Однажды предприниматель Евгений Рапопорт увлекся идеей сверхновой экологичной упаковки. По замыслу она должна была вытеснить из сознания российского гражданина пластиковые пакеты. Перебрав несколько вариантов, Рапопорт остановился на старинной советской авоське и активно занялся ее продвижением. Получился в меру безумный и захватывающий проект «Авоська дарит надежду», который, несомненно, заслуживает подробного рассказа.
Испокон веков авоськи плелись на предприятиях Всероссийского общества слепых. Евгений Рапопорт об этом не знал. Не знал он и о том, что ВОС уже 20 лет как остановило эту деятельность в связи с нехваткой средств. Пришлось ему лично налаживать производство на предприятиях в Чувашии и Мордовии, а также в Курске и Арзамасе. И он, представьте, наладил, вложив в дело почти 7 млн рублей. Нашлись и незрячие, и сырье, в общем, дело закрутилось.
Как следует из официального описания проекта, возрожденная из небытия авоська должна дарить надежду не только на избавление от враждебного пластика, но и служить «неотъемлемым атрибутом современного человека, своеобразным мерилом ответственного отношения к окружающему миру». Себестоимость мерила в производстве – около 220 рублей: после того как авоськи забирают с завода, к ним еще пришивают модные кожаные ручки, красят в яркие цвета, в общем, «доводят». И продают эти атрибуты современности по 300–400 рублей за штуку.
Симпатичная сумка с дырками родилась еще в XIX веке. Чешский предприниматель Вавржин Крчил промышлял сеточками для волос. А когда на них не стало спроса, зачем-то добавил к ним ручки. Так незамысловато и легко появилась на свет «сетка для покупок».
А слово «авоська» за ней, если верить слухам, закрепил Аркадий Райкин. Якобы еще в 1935 году он, стоя на сцене с сетчатой сумкой в руках, шутил: «Это – авоська. Авось-ка я что-нибудь в ней принесу».
С 60-х годов почти каждый гражданин СССР обладал сетчатой сумкой. До полиэтиленовых пакетов было еще далеко, поэтому без авоськи не выходили из дома; всегда она, что называется, грела карман.
Перед пакетом преимущества авоськи неоспоримы: не занимает много места, в нее без труда помещается арбуз, или десяток бутылок, или небольшое ведро картошки. Особенно празднично смотрелась авоська с апельсинами. Неудобно в ней было носить только яйца и сахар в бумажных пакетах: бумагу авоська резала.
Помимо прямого назначения продуктовую сетку использовали и для других нужд. Бабушки с помощью авоськи красили пасхальные яйца. Женщины приспособили ее для хранения овощей, а зимой вывешивали за окно, используя как холодильник. Ненужная жене авоська переходила по наследству мужу и детям. Под палящим летним солнцем мужчины ловили ею раков. А пионеры делали из нее сетку на баскетбольное кольцо.
Идиллия закончилась с наступлением 90-х годов. Появились пластиковые пакеты, а товары, наоборот, исчезли. И про сетки забыли на двадцать лет.
Поскольку я узнала об авоське столько нового, то могла уже безо всякого стыда отправиться в южный город Арзамас, где, собственно, ее и плетут с 1955 года. Меня мучил только один вопрос: дарит ли авоська надежду только Евгению Рапопорту или действительно всем, в том числе и ее незрячим производителям?
Нежное утро застало меня в Арзамасе. На горизонте занималась заря. В пустом зале ожидания на трех составленных скамейках спал старик с бородой Льва Толстого.
Почти сразу на вокзал прибыл и мой провожатый – Сергей Анатольевич Караваев, заместитель гендиректора по развитию и производству Арзамасского завода с неожиданным названием «Автопровод» – авоськи плетут именно там. Сергей Анатольевич, 45 лет от роду, был бодр, гладко выбрит и невероятно любезен.
– Если вы не против, я сначала немного покажу вам наш город, а потом сразу на предприятие, – предложил Сергей Анатольевич.
Как тут отказать? Мы поехали.
Что такое город Арзамас? Во-первых, как сказано выше, это предприятие «Автопровод». Там рождаются сетчатые сумки, бок о бок с многоцветными проводами и жгутами, которые завод поставляет автомобильным и автобусным заводам России. Ничего удивительного в этом нет – родственная близость жгута и авоськи налицо. Кроме того, в пригороде Арзамаса делают удивительные автомобили: грузовик «Земляк» и отечественный вариант «Хаммера» по имени «Вепрь». Наконец, производство авоськи было бы невозможным без 36 храмов и 4 монастырей, поскольку ее авторы, как правило, люди религиозные. В Арзамасе 36 храмов и 4 монастыря. Наконец-то мы на заводе. Вся его немаленькая территория оснащена звуковыми маячками для ориентировки слепых. Около четверти работников – инвалиды по зрению.
По лестнице, через коридор с голубыми стенами входим в цех. На железных арматурах, как белье, мерно раскачиваются разноцветные провода. Зрячие и незрячие работники комплектуют и обматывают их черной изолентой: те самые жгуты. Они очень уверенно и точно делают свою работу, при этом глаза их все время открыты. Разница лишь в том, что смотрят они не на тебя и не на провода, а куда-то вдаль.
– С возрастом у слабовидящих работников зрение ухудшается, кто-то больше не в состоянии комплектовать автожгуты, тогда мы пытаемся найти альтернативу, – рассказывал Сергей Анатольевич, пока мы шли по цеху. – Ни в коем случае не оставляем наших инвалидов по зрению без работы. Предлагаем им делать метлы, хозмешки и, конечно же, авоськи.
Изготовлением авосек на ОП «Автопровод» руководит технолог Валентина Федоровна Скачкова. Кроткая пожилая женщина одета в фабричный синий халат, на лице блестят очки. Вот уже тридцать пять лет Валентина Федоровна обучает слепых таинству плетения.

Замечательная статья, после ее прочтения мне сразу захотелось найти и приобрести себе пару таких авосек. Ярких. И избавиться от горы пластиковых пакетов. Но к моему великому сожалению Евгений Рапопорт и его авоськи находятся слишком далеко от меня.
Статья-то замечательная))) Только вряд ли конкурент авоська пласт. пакетам. Во-первых, в ней все видно. Во-вторых, она по-прежнему, как понятно, режет бумагу. В-третьих - возмутительно высока себестоимость и цена, в прошлые времена авоськи стоили копейки. Из-за одной цены я бы не стала брать эти новомодные штучки. В-четвертых, на случай дождя пакет защитит свое содержимое, В отличие от авоськи. В-пятых, авоська не столь многофункциональна. В пакете можно нести не только картошки, бутылки и арбузы. Но и книги, например. В-шестых - боюсь, что краска может полинять)))
Делали бы лучше сумки из холстины, прочные и недорогие.
