Имя Ли Харви Освальда знает весь Минск. Единственный человек, которого обвинили в убийстве президента США Кеннеди, жил здесь, работая на заводе белорусских телевизоров «Горизонт». Ли Харви Освальд щупал минских баб и ходил зимой бить зайца вместе со слесарями завода. В очередную годовщину убийства Кеннеди Александра Романова попыталась понять, почему Освальд выдержал в Минске всего два года, а потом помчался в США и застрелил там президента.
Ли Освальд приехал в СССР по туристической визе и, очарованный, попросил советского гражданства. Чтобы отделаться от американского коммуниста, его отправили в Минск. Здесь белорусы сделали его то ли контролером, то ли слесарем завода, но с зарплатой директора – исключительно из белорусского принципа «госцю – лепшае». В Минске до смерти любят иностранцев. Это как бабья любовь, которой не нужна взаимность. Никто в этом мире Освальда не любил, кроме белорусов. Его не любила даже собственная мама, которой вечно не было дома, как позже выяснила специально созданная комиссия.
Попав из Минска обратно в США, Ли Освальд превратился в обычного маленького человека, обремененного семьей. Он больше не нравился женщинам и, главное, не мог найти работу. 22 ноября 1963 года он вдруг взял итальянскую винтовку и убил Джона Кеннеди. То есть свалился со своей винтовкой как снег на голову. Многие американцы до сих пор считают, что Освальд действовал по наводке КГБ и что именно подготовкой к убийству он и занимался на заводе телевизоров в Минске. Белорусам же удобнее считать Освальда стрелочником, которого подставило ЦРУ. Разве может житель белорусской столицы быть злодеем?
Ли говорил, что ему в Минске скучно и некуда тратить деньги. В чем-то он был прав. Минск действительно напоминает санаторий для лечения депрессивных состояний. Здесь на редкость спокойная жизнь и неброские цвета. Правда, с 1961 года город во многом изменился. Открылись казино и кафе, где можно потратить деньги, даже заработанные на заводе «Горизонт». Один такой бар под названием «Лондон» находится прямо напротив здания минского КГБ. Я зашла туда, раздумывая: что в Минске может довести человека до политического убийства? Художник Юра Виноградов, управляющий баром «Лондон», рассказал мне, что когда-то он сам снимал квартиру напротив служебного входа КГБ и что там была клумба, где каждую весну высаживали тюльпаны. Неплохо, подумала я, но как мотив для убийства Кеннеди все же слабовато.
А Юра все рассказывал. Он это умеет. Для посетителей он является живым напоминанием о конце 90-х. Если расспросить Юру о тех временах, вы узнаете, как он вышиб дверь туалета в клубе «28» и бил ею двух бандитов по голове. Бандиты тогда чуть не задушили начальника охраны по имени Олег – того, что сейчас преподает в ОМОНе рукопашный бой.
Я спросила Виноградова, что он думает об Освальде и убийстве Кеннеди. Юра ответил так:
– У меня есть друг, бандит, шесть лет в интерполовском розыске. Он говорит, это как вату катать – бессмысленное действие.
– Ты о чем? – не поняла я.
– Что даст тебе знание о реальной гибели Кеннеди? Ничего! Ты все равно не сможешь пережить эту информацию как рождение ребенка, как секс! В конце концов, я похоронил практически всех друзей, и мало кто из них умер своей смертью!
– Кеннеди убили, потому что он был из богатой семьи, – внезапно буркнул завсегдатай клуба откуда-то из угла.
Во мне загорелся луч надежды:
– Что вы имеете в виду?

За Мариной ухаживали сразу пятеро, но аптекарь вышла замуж за американца и родила ему дочь. Летом 1962 года супруги уехали в США. За месяц до убийства Марина ушла из дома Освальда и написала в советское посольство прошение вернуться в СССР. Когда Освальд стрелял из книгохранилища в президентский кортеж, не исключено, что он метил и не в Кеннеди вовсе, а в Анатолия. Так звали парня из Минска, в которого была влюблена жена Освальда. Марина собирала вырезки из прессы с портретами Джона Кеннеди, потому что он был как две капли воды похож на Анатолия. Так что можно во всем обвинить Марину: какого рожна она сравнивала Анатолия с Кеннеди? Какого черта вообще тут Анатолий и кто он такой?
Правда, у Марины есть железное оправдание: она, как и все американцы, верила в национальную службу безопасности. А Анатолий, как и все в Белорусси, просто ни о чем этом не знал. Он тоже не виноват.
– Кеннеди мог завалить каждый, потому что система безопасности была фиговая! – фраза прозвучала так внезапно, что я чуть не свалилась со стула. Я видела только спину говорящего, но и по ней было ясно, что это Петр Марцев – специалист по политтехнологиям, легенда белорусской журналистики.
– Освальд был морским пехотинцем, снайпером… – начала было я.
– Да не был он никем, – отрезал Петр. – Да кто он? Мудак, серая мышь!
